This past June a young couple came into our downtown Center wanting to know whether they were expecting. Through the course of the intake process I found out that my client had recently married. She was having trouble trying to remember to write her new last name. They were both rather nervous about finding out whether she was pregnant. After watching a video on Natural Family Planning – which they told me they both appreciated – I had their results. “Congratulations, you are brand new parents-to-be!” I told them. She smiled at her new husband and he smiled at her; they hugged and awaited the next step in the process. Just then, the Lord presented an opportunity for them to become new creations in Christ Jesus. They accepted. I led them both in the ‘sinner’s prayer’ and congratulated them again on their new life in Christ. A three stranded cord is not easily broken; new life as husband and wife, new life as father and mother and new life as brother and sister in Christ Jesus.
